NLP Engineer

Netherlands, Noord-Holland, AmsterdamResearch & Development

Job description

Help us reinvent the hybrid work experience.

Say what?

Hybrid working has been adopted and embraced with unprecedented speed. Now that we’ve all had a taste of the flexibility it can offer, there’s no going back. But freedom comes at a cost. Hybrid work has added 25% more meeting hours to the average workday. What if you could miss a meeting without missing out? What if catching up was easier than sitting in? What if an hour of discussion could be digested in just 7 minutes? At Carv, we’re building a meeting intelligence platform like no other.

The team
We've been there before, and we absolutely loved it; building a company, taking a rough idea, and turning it into a global market leader. We did it once, and we are doing it again. The R&D team, responsible for the design, prototyping, and developing next-generation ML/AI tools and methodologies for the platform, is mission-critical for our success. For this team, we are looking for a new NLP Engineer.

The role
As part of Carvs’ R&D team, the NLP Engineer will help design, prototype, and develop next-generation ML/AI tools and methodologies to transform how we capture, structure, and re-purpose meeting data. In addition, you will support the product & development team to leverage existing solutions to maximize the speed of delivery, but also have the opportunity to envision, scope, design, build, and test new solutions from the ground up. You have the intent to be a domain expert, both in the organization and in the broader field of Computational Linguistics. You love to educate and inspire the internal team and can connect with experts in the field and make them enthusiastic about the Carv mission.

What we offer
A very attractive package with a generous salary and stock option plan is waiting for you. But more importantly, we offer the excitement of building a new company, from scratch. The Management team has 15+ years of experience steering a technology / SaaS company to become a global market leader. So, if you want to be part of a start-up but don't want to start in an attic, this is your chance.

On top of that, we offer:
  • Unlimited PTO;
  • Potential Visa & Relocation Support, if not remote;
  • Latest MacBook Pro;
  • Personal Development Budget;
  • Hybrid working environment.

Job requirements

  • Strong knowledge in modern NLP techniques such as RNNs, Transformers, BERT, GPT, etc.;
  • Experience with Foundation NLP models;
  • Experience with NLP techniques like semantic search, embeddings, summarization;
  • Experience in natural language processing tools and platforms (such spaCy, SciKit, OpenNLP, NLTK, CoreNLP, Gensim);
  • Experience in Machine Learning toolkits (TensorFlow, PyTorch);
