The Role

As an AI Engineer at Carv, you will take a hands-on approach in developing and optimizing AI systems that transform candidate and hiring manager interactions, enhance workflow efficiency, and support seamless integration with applicant tracking systems (ATS). Leveraging tools like Python, Langchain and Langsmith, you’ll build and refine scalable, reliable data pipelines and AI-driven solutions for our recruitment tech platform. Enhancing our AI capabilities, from data processing to document generation, while ensuring system robustness across diverse user scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

1. AI Pipeline Development 

   1. Design and enhance AI pipelines to automatically extract and format output documents and structured data compatible with external systems. 

   2. Research new data extraction techniques to improve accuracy and automate data capture from various input documents.

   3. Collaborate with integration teams to ensure smooth and reliable data transfer to ATS and other connected systems.

2. System Optimization for AI Stability and Robustness

   1. Analyze and improve the underlying AI setup to enhance stability, adaptability, and overall output quality for diverse customer use cases.

   2. Identify and address potential issues, especially regarding input variability, to maintain high system resilience.

   3. Implement continuous testing and monitoring practices to optimize system performance and ensure reliable output generation.

3.  Prompt Engineering for Customer Output 

   1. Develop and refine AI prompt templates to generate output documents in customer-specific formats, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

   2. Work closely with product and engineering teams to optimize prompts for specific customer document standards.

   3. Conduct testing and iterate on prompt designs to reduce manual adjustments and improve output quality.

4. Research and development 

   1. Lead R&D initiatives to advance Carv’s AI capabilities, with a focus on emerging applications, including candidate engagement and workflow automation.

   2. Explore new techniques and technologies that could improve or expand Carv’s product offerings, from interaction-driven AI to predictive modeling.

   3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and iterate on new AI-driven features that support both current and future customer needs.

• Strong Python Skills: Demonstrated experience working extensively in Python, with the ability to develop and maintain applications and data pipelines using a Python-centric tech stack.

• Experience with LLM mgmt tools like LangChain and LangSmith, to build and evaluate applications powered by large language models (LLMs). Skilled in developing and optimizing AI pipelines that leverage these integrations and components for scalable, reliable AI-powered solutions.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Experience deploying and managing cloud-native applications using GCP services, including Cloud Functions and Cloud Run, preferably with Firebase for backend integration.

• Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex AI systems, optimizing performance, and maintaining accuracy and stability in AI-driven workflows.

• Passion for AI in Recruitment: A genuine interest in applying AI to streamline and enhance recruitment processes, with a focus on building solutions that improve recruiter productivity and efficiency.
